Rainbow Runner is a 30-meter custom-built cargo carrier, fully designed and constructed by Salted Fiber Works to support large-scale inter-island and inter-atoll logistics across the Maldives.
The core objective of this project was to deliver a robust, high-capacity cargo vessel capable of transporting heavy and bulk cargo in a single trip, reducing turnaround time and improving logistical efficiency for the client.
Built for a professional cargo logistics company, Rainbow Runner was engineered to operate reliably over long distances and extended runs without interruption.
The vessel was designed with load capacity, endurance, and reliability as primary drivers. A traditional wooden structure combined with a fiberglass outer shell provides structural strength while improving durability, resistance to saltwater exposure, and ease of maintenance.
The hull form and propulsion setup were optimized for steady cruising under heavy load, ensuring safe and economical operation across open channels between islands and atolls.
We delivered a complete design-and-build solution, including:
All construction methods and materials were selected to withstand continuous cargo operations in tropical marine environments.
Rainbow Runner was purpose-built to handle demanding logistical operations while maintaining predictable performance and fuel efficiency.
